Conditions We Treat

We offer comprehensive eye services for all kinds of conditions and eye illnesses:

Cataracts

The proteins in the eye lens allow light to pass through, keeping the lens clear. When cataracts occur, these proteins clump together, causing the lens to become cloudy and blurry.

If your case has progressed into a late stage, our team and Perez Li Ophthalmology can help you determine if surgery is the best treatment. In this surgical procedure, the eye lens that has become clouded is replaced with a clear implant.

Glaucoma

Glaucoma gradually causes the optic nerve to deteriorate due to increased eye pressure. The optic nerve is in charge of sending visual information from your eye to your brain. When glaucoma appears, fluid starts to build up in the front part of the eye, causing blind spots in the vision.

At Perez Li Ophthalmology, we offer multiple kinds of treatment to alleviate glaucoma symptoms, including eye drops, medication, and laser treatment.

Macular Degeneration

Macular degeneration is a condition that affects the center of the retina, which determines vision sharpness. A damaged macula prevents your brain from understanding and reading the images that your eyes see.

Although macular degeneration is a lifelong condition, several treatments can help slow down its progression:

Our professional team at Perez Li Ophthalmology offers different types of macular degeneration treatments—from prescribing vitamins to injectable medicine and laser therapy. Choosing the right one will depend on your individual needs.

Dry Eye

Dry eye disease is characterized by insufficient tears to lubricate the cornea or when these evaporate too quickly. This can lead to eye pain, swelling around the eye, or blurry vision.

Besides offering helpful information on how some lifestyle changes can help alleviate dry eye syndrome, our team at Perez Li Ophthalmology also offers in-site procedures. These include thermal pulsation therapy and intense pulsed light therapy. Both procedures aim to melt the blockage in your eye gland to produce lubricating eye oil.

Diabetic Eye

In a diabetic eye, a fluid discharge develops in the retina or beneath its tissue, leading to the retina expanding and damaging the vision. For diabetic patients dealing with these eye issues, we offer laser therapy. This procedure helps repair the damaged retina and helps to stop bleeding from blood vessels.

Drug Ocular Toxicity

Certain medications can have adverse effects on the eyes. These effects can range from mild, temporary symptoms to severe, permanent damage to the eye structures. Our eye specialists primarily identify and discontinue the causing medication.

In cases where drug-induced cataracts or glaucoma appear, we offer a range of ocular surgery to restore vision damaged by medication.

Eye Injuries, Illnesses, Infections, and Emergencies

The eye can become easily damaged by cuts, scratches, burns, chemicals, and objects. Injuries of this type need attention immediately since leaving them unattended may lead to irreversible vision damage.

Treatment for eye illnesses, injuries, and infections will depend on the damage extent and the type of issue suffered. Our eye specialists may perform eye irrigation to remove foreign objects, dust, or debris causing pain.
